Who I am
What personal data I may collect and why I’d collect it
When visitors leave comments on the site I may collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
I don’t have a website-related contact form, but I do have an option to sign in for my newsletter with Mailer Lite. I won’t send you newsletters until you sign up of your own free will.
I might also collect your email addresses (and possibly first and last names) when you sign up to receive free downloads or offers.
If you leave a comment on my site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, I will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, I will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
I might make use of Google and Facebook analytics to determine how you use this website. Where you use it. And when you use it.
Whom I share your data with
I don’t share your data with anyone. This is my personal author website, and it is meant to be a safe place where you can know more about me and we can interact and get to know each other better.
How long I retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so I can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on my website (if any), I also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data I hold about you, including any data you have provided. You can also request that I erase any personal data I might hold about you. This does not include any data I am obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where I send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Otherwise, any information collected is strictly for my own personal purposes, e.g., collecting emails from those who choose to opt-in to receive my newsletter.
Your contact information
I only collect, and use, information voluntarily offered, like email addresses for my newsletter and give-aways.
I might ask you for additional information in cases of surveys to determine who my readership is. I might also ask for more information if I’m holding competitions or give-aways. Any information asked for, or collected, will not be shared with third parties.
How I protect your data
I’m the only administrator of this website. No one else has access to it. I also make use of security measures offered by SiteGround, who hosts this website.
What third parties I receive data from
I use the Divi theme (and Divi Builder plugin, Monarch Plugin, and Bloom Plugin) from Elegant Themes. I also receive data from places like Amazon, Instafreebie, Mailer Lite, Nook, Smashwords, iTunes, and Kobo. Ooh, let’s not forget WordPress.
What automated decision making and/or profiling we do with user data
None at the moment. This is merely a beautiful, and hopefully magical, landing page until I find more time to open it up to more possibilities.
